Beautiful Sophisticated Fit and Flare Wedding Dress with Custom Straps
Worn once for my wedding ceremony and first dance portion - professionally cleaned and still in perfect condition.
I loved it because it struck the right balance for a dress that was truly beautiful, special, and obviously bridal without breaking the bank. The material is lovely, the lace bodice was flattering and the double layers of patterned lace on the breathtaking statement train were a standout effect. The lace was honestly almost comparable to a different high-end designer gown that was over double the price that I also tried. The fit and flare shape made my curves look great and elongated my silhouette.
Alterations
- I didn't want to be worried about a strapless dress falling down all night so my amazing seamstress created beautiful matching straps from the accessory sleeves (which I did not care for), so no tugging at the dress was needed!
- The waist was taken in slightly to create/ highlight curves.
- It was hemmed to fit a height of 5'6 (5'3 with 3-inch heels) while preserving the delicate floral lace detail.
- The train is really stunning - long enough to make a statement without being ridiculously out of place in something less than a cathedral setting - and has been outfitted with a traditional bustle (double over bustle because of the train length) to bring it to a comfortable length that still looked graceful for the first dance.
I'm no model and struggled with seeing dresses portrayed on gorgeous slender 6 ft women compared to a dress on me, but this dress made me feel beautiful and confident on my wedding day. If I had to do it again I would absolutely pick this dress again - it made me so happy to be wearing it that rather than being stuffed in a closet I hope another bride will get the same joy and feel as wonderful as I did!
